Portfolio work for the 2016 Summer Internship at WDET 101.9.

Here you will find a multiple news stories that I created while interning at WDET over the summer of 2016. I wrote numerous stories for Jerome Vaughn to read during the morning and evening breaks.

WDET description of the NEWS internship:

“Experience the rush of covering breaking news alongside WDETs team of award-winning broadcast journalists. News Director Jerome Vaughn gives interns and volunteers a foundation in the basics of broadcast journalism and the opportunity to gain invaluable real-world experience. Newsroom interns scour local and national headlines, interview newsmakers, report on events, record and edit audio, take photos, create digital posts, engage readers worldwide through social media, and even produce their own feature story for WDET. Vaughn says prospective interns should be driven, self-motivated, open to learning, and ready to work hard under tight deadlines. Students and volunteers interested in journalism, communications and related areas of studies are encouraged to apply. This internship requires students to commit at least two full weekdays to the radio station every week.”
